What we measure

Our extensive analysis combines blood and urine biomarkers, DNA, physical measurements, lifestyle, and fitness data for reliable insights into your health.

Biomarkers

Molecules found in your blood and urine. They are important indicators of your health.

DNA

Cutting-edge ‘genetic susceptibility scores’ that indicate how your genes may influence your health.

Physical measurements

Assessment of your body composition, including body fat and muscle mass, your fat distribution, and more.

Lifestyle

Analysis of your health goals and daily habits: activity as part of work and travel, sport and fitness training, nutrition and wellbeing.

Fitness

Examination of your strength. With our Health & Performance packages we also examine the conditioning of your heart and lungs.

A TRUE REFLECTION OF YOU AND YOUR HEALTH

Our world is home to nearly 8 billion people – yet no two of us are exactly the same. Everyone’s DNA and environment are different, and each of us has different personal challenges and goals in life.

To truly reflect you and your health, Ancora delivers personalized insights and actions based on detailed measurements of your blood, urine, body, plus genetic and lifestyle factors. Our science is tailored to you.

Body

Key organ and health systems including your metabolism, heart, kidneys and thyroid.

Blood

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Good blood health is essential for transporting oxygen to your muscles and to the organs around your body. To assess your blood health, we look at the proteins responsible for oxygen transport, and at your red and white blood cells.

Bone and muscle

Your Subtitle Goes Here

There are many factors determining your bone and muscle health, from your age to what you eat and how frequently you move. For this assessment, we look at key measures of fitness such as your grip strength, as well as biomarkers in your blood and your activity habits.

Heart

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Your heart will beat about 3 billion times throughout your life, pumping blood full of nutrients and oxygen to your organs, and to your lungs to be oxygenized. To assess your heart health, we review over 10 blood biomarkers, as well as physical measurements, information from your genes and a validated risk-calculator.

Kidneys

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Kidneys are responsible for filtering your blood and maintaining your body’s water balance. We assess a number of blood and urine biomarkers which could indicate whether your kidney function is not optimal, or that you may be at a risk of developing kidney stones.

Liver

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Your liver processes many of the substances that flow through your body. To assess your liver health, we look at liver-specific biomarkers as well as metabolic biomarkers, together with your lifestyle information.

Metabolic

Your Subtitle Goes Here

A well-functioning metabolism is key to a healthy life. With your metabolic health assessment, we determine how effectively your body is processing fats and sugars, and how this is influencing your body composition.

Thyroid

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Your thyroid can impact your health and wellbeing in many ways. We make a complete assessment of your thyroid health by looking at the hormones it produces and at minerals which are essential for thyroid function.

Wellbeing and stress including your cortisol levels, and your personality type.

Wellbeing

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Feeling well is essential for a complete, meaningful life. Yet, many of us often overlook this. To help you reflect on your wellbeing, we show you where you stand regarding six pillars of wellbeing.

Stress

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Stress is a prominent factor in modern life. While it is a physiological response your body cannot do without, too much stress can have detrimental effects on your health and wellbeing. Based on your lifestyle information and blood biomarkers, we assess your body and your mind’s ability to handle stress.

LIFESTYLE

Energy balance, micronutrients, physical activity and for Health and Performance members: cardiopulmonary fitness, inflammation, and recovery.

Nutrition

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Food is not just ‘energy’ or ‘fuel’ – food is nutrition for your health. And when consumed in the right quantities, it can have multiple benefits. To be able to effectively pinpoint which foods you eat too much of, too little of, or just right – we measure a range of vitamins and minerals in your blood. We also assess your health, and use the answers you provided in your Health and Lifestyle Questionnaire.

Activity

Your Subtitle Goes Here

Regular physical activity is of utmost importance. In combination with healthful nutrition, it lowers your risk for a vast number of health conditions, boosts your mood, and contributes to leading a fulfilling life. At Ancora, we advocate three pillars of physical activity: being active (avoiding a sedentary lifestyle), aerobic activity (activities that raise your heart rate and breathing rate), and bone and muscle-strengthening activities.

Health behaviors

Your Subtitle Goes Here

In addition to stress, nutrition and activity, we have refined the Health Promotion Model (originally published by Pender in 1987) to provide you insight into your health behaviors, including responsibility, spiritual growth and interpersonal relations.

Performance

Your Subtitle Goes Here

As a Health and Performance member you also receive detailed insights into your cardiopulmonary fitness (i.e. how well your lungs are exchanging gas, how well your heart is pumping blood, and how well your muscles can use oxygen), inflammation and recovery (using a number of extra blood biomarkers).
